Gabby's First Birthday

Well, it was Gabby's birthday this past week. We had planned to have a party today with all of my family, but due to poor travelling conditions that didn;t happen. However, Gabby's Godfather came in from Edmonton and we had a small celebration.

Hey Dejan, haven't talked to you in a long time! So you're catholic now, eh? Whatever happened to Eastern Orthodox?

Happy birthday to your daughter! And congrats on the new house.

Ask me in a different forum and I'll explain further. But the short of it is that I am Eastern Catholic. This means I am both Orthodox and Catholic at the same time.

"I am both Orthodox and Catholic at the same time."
Yeah, Dejan, I totally know what you mean: I have a friend who is Unitarian.

Greg,

No, I don;t mean that. I simply mean that within the Catholic Church there are 22 different rites. The largest of those rites is the ROman rite. After the Roman rite are all the Eastern rites in the Catholic Church. THese Eastern rites are Orthodox in history, theology, spirituality, discipline, and worship. That is what I mean when I say I am both Catholic and Orthodox, at the same time. I am Orthodox in the way I practice my faith. I am Catholic because I am in communion with the rest of the Catholic Church.
